Column #475      October 4, 2024Elon Musk

Do you want to live in a one-party system? It’s on Elon Musk’s mind. He recently posted on X that the influx of illegal immigrants into the United States, “something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, will effectively establish a one-party state and Democracy is over.”

He projects that if “even one in 20 illegals become citizens per year that would be about two million new legal voters in four years. The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the ‘Democratic’ Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!”1

Musk wrote that, “Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying ‘asylum seekers,’ who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way too win every election.

“America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over.”2

If this isn’t stopped immediately, and if illegals aren’t deported, then the U.S. will become socialist state. And, since so many Americans are voting for more handouts and “free stuff” one can see why the threat Musk is warning us about is so real.

The VP Debate

Tuesday’s debate was an actual debate. It was even inspiring to a degree. Both Vance and Walz are experienced debaters and they thought, talked, and debated with vastly greater clarity than Trump and Kamala. It was not only an actual debate, but polite and even had moments where the two men agreed. This last point was the inspirational part that supported the importance of free speech.

Two people having a civil conversation based on common sense can find areas of agreement. It’s these footholds on sanity that can result in workable compromises that maintain common goals. Vance is to be congratulated on his win that actually ended with each man having respect for the other.

Unfortunately, the moderators, in spite of their obvious feelings of superiority, were definitely lightweights that do not understand the Big Picture nor what’s required to make our country better for all Americans. They smile smugly like they knew all the proper answers yet they don’t even know the proper questions. It’s a level of ignorance that’s difficult to fathom.

Trump has always had complex plans for grandiose projects he has had to sell to professional financiers. Yet when it comes to telling average folks about his plans he abbreviates his thinking process and people can’t follow it. And this time around in his run for the presidency, I think that if he’s into big change, a full explanation would scare people absolutely to death.

Our country is deep in debt. This frames all the options. If as a nation we continue on as we have for the past 90 years, hyperinflation will result and nobody will win. In that case, nothing will matter whether it’s housing shortages/surpluses, human rights, wars, abortions, health care costs, etc.

Therefore, the solution is BIG CHANGE.

In a nearly bankrupt business the options are to increase income and/or reduce expenses. Reducing expenses requires the closing down of many agencies such as the Department of Education. It will require the remaining government entities to cut personnel, expenditures, and become more efficient. And maybe bonuses and penalties will be applied to how annual budgets are managed.

On the income side raising taxes on the people is self-defeating. It must be recognized that corporations just pass on taxes to their customers as an expense. In that case corporate taxes can be cut drastically—but high tariffs will have to be imposed on imported goods and services. The objective is to bring value back to the currency which will be seen as a deflationary depression. It will be a very stressful time for most Americans and people all over the world.

There are no halfway measures. It’s either blow everything out with more big government and more spending (drugs and booze)—or cause deflation (abstinence). The first option leads to weakness. The second option builds character. The most important question was never addressed.

To your health.
