Column #497      March 7, 2025Trump Addresses Congress March 2025

The thinking processes of the far left are something I just can’t understand. It seems to me that every American citizen would want the best for our country. Following our country’s laws would be a good place to start. Making an effort to love our neighbors is another. As citizens we’re all on the same team and, although we may have differences of opinions at times, none of us want to scuttle the team and make it lose.

But here we are seven weeks into Trump’s second term and it seems the far left wants to upend everything Trump wants to accomplish without even seeing if it works. It’s as if they want to resume the failed policies of the past 75 years. It was glaringly obvious during Trump’s speech before Congress where the Democrats didn’t clap for anything Trump said that was positive for America.

The Democrats even refused to clap for a 13-year-old boy who survived brain cancer, and was awarded an honorary Secret Service badge. Hypocritically, many female Democratic representatives wore pink in support of feminism—the day after Senate Democrats blocked a GOP-led bill to ban transgender athletes from women’s sports.

Democrats have said that policies to restrict transgender athletes’ participation in team sports adds to the discrimination that transgender people face, particularly transgender youth. And they argue that Republicans are seeking to undermine the rights of LGBTQ students by advancing the bill.” Of course, women can’t compete with biological men. And for some reason, the Democrats can’t support restricting transgender athletes’ to participating in sports limited to just transgender athletes.1

When Trump started his address to Congress, what did the Democrats do? They protested loudly and stopped Trump from talking. Wasn’t that a childish attempt to end free speech? It was like colleges have been teaching students—shout down visiting speakers that have viewpoints you disagree with.

The Democrats refused to clap for every one of Trump’s talking points:

●    Illegal immigration is now at all-time lows, drew not one clap from the leftists.
●    DEI is over. Hiring based on merit rather than race, color, sex, sexual preference, religion, or national origin brought groans of protest from the Democrats.
●    Outlawing child mutilations for gender dysphoria enlisted shouts of displeasure from the left.
●    DOGE finding numerous examples of waste, fraud, and abuse that will save citizens billions of dollars saw “Musk Steals” signs being waved enthusiastically by the leftists.
●    The promise for a balanced budget was considered a lie by the left.
●    Suggestions of peace brought not one clap from the left until Trump’s Pocahontas joke about the left wanting five more years of war—and then they clapped.
●    Trump read a letter he had just received from Zelensky stating “Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table.” Democrats frowned in unison.
●    Establishing Common Sense policies fell on deaf Democratic ears.
●    Tax cuts for all Americans received the Democrat’s cold shoulder.
●    Replacing income taxes with tariffs was shunned as ridiculous by Democrats.
●    Trump boasted that big manufacturing investments are already showing up in our country as businesses want to avoid tariffs. The Democrat’s reaction indicated they don’t know what that means economically since all they want to do is spend more money.

BTW, inflation is the response we get when the money supply is growing faster than the supply of goods to purchase, or the quantity of available goods is shrinking compared to the quantity of money. Both result in higher prices. Therefore, just because we put tariffs on certain imported goods, that doesn’t mean all goods in the country rise in price. It means the imported goods may rise in price, yet if the supply of money stays flat many domestic goods will fall in price. Politicians who say otherwise are either lying or they are as dumb as a sack of hammers.

As for lowering prices, that requires deflation—a pay down of debts. That would be less government spending, a shrinking money supply, fewer government bureaucrats, and the elimination of the Fed. That would cause a sharp drop in prices for stocks, bonds, crypto, and real-estate prices, lower energy costs, and lower commodity prices. In Trump’s plan, reestablishing price stability will be dependent on the elimination of income taxes providing citizens would more money to spend coupled with better jobs coming from the tariff incentives and deregulations to build more manufacturing plants in the USA. Trump said “There'll be a little disturbance, like we’re okay with that. It won’t be much.”

Trump’s plan is multifaceted calling for numerous steps coming together within a very short period of time. Each phase is vulnerable to interference from the left and criticism from the main stream media. Most Americans do not understand the economic complexities so it’s going to take considerable work from the bully pulpit on Trump’s part. Of course, the Democrats see that Trump’s plans are complex and multifaceted. Consequently their primary game is to delay, destroy, and block every stage Trump’s MAGA policies and cause failure.

Here’s how U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained it today. "Look, there's going to be a natural adjustment as we move away from public spending to private spending," Bessent said on CNBC. "The market and the economy have just become hooked, and we've become addicted to this government spending, and there's going to be a detox period."2

Personally I think Trump’s plan is sound, except that it’s vulnerable to political and skewed judicial interference.

What do the Democrats say they want instead of Trump’s many policy changes?

●    Women should be able to abort their unborn babies—which they can already do in many states since abortion is a state’s issue and not a Federal issue.
●    Save Social Security, which is already supported by Republicans. In fact by eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse in that agency it is being saved.
●    Save Medicaid as is rather than restructure it so it’s more practical.
●    Stop Trump’s “inflationary policies.” Pointing to rising egg and coffee prices as Trump’s “new” inflationary problem is a hollow claim. It was Biden’s chicken culling rulings last year that decimated today’s egg laying population. Also, the quantity of coffee grown in the USA is minuscule compared to the world’s supply so it’s not even a Biden issue. To say the prices of eggs and coffee, which are due to shortages, is a sign of inflation (money printing) is a moronic claim. Trump’s money supply has been flat.
●    Trump’s tax cuts are for his billionaire friends and not the ordinary citizens. Yet his tariffs, tax cuts, and regulation cuts are part of Trump’s enticements for attracting more manufacturing plants in America to provide higher paying jobs for American citizens.
●    The Federal government needs to provide more support for citizens and not cut back on services or funding. Democrats always want to spend more money without explaining where the money should come from, nor if it’s printed and borrowed, how to avoid bankruptcy and hyperinflation.
●    Democracy is threatened by cutting back on government services and spending—a totally moronic myth any bimbo could discredit.
●    Leftists want to control social media, especially X, to avoid “misinformation.”
●    “Donald Trump’s actions suggest that, in his heart, he doesn’t believe we are an exceptional nation. He clearly doesn’t think we should lead the world,” said Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI). Another lying moron.
●    The annual funding bill deadline is March 14, 2025. Democrats want to insert language in the funding bill to ensure that the money will be spent and not withheld, a reaction to Elon Musk’s effort to shrink the government. This derails all efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse as well as any chance to balance the budget and keep our country solvent. In other words, it’s a budget that can’t be spent wisely or trimmed back. Woke reigns supreme within the Democratic ranks.
●    Transgender men must be allowed to play in women sports or it will hurt their feelings.
●    DEI is not racist as it gives minorities opportunities they would not normally have in a white male supremacist world.3

There is nothing supportive of a stronger America in the Democratic wish list. Just destruction.
